Reflection
This class really took me back to my undergraduate days in education. This class focused on the psychology of learning and how we learn. I found it in intriguing how the brain has the ability to repair and recreate new pathways called, neuroplasticity.
As I worked my way through this class I learned new terms and ideas about learning. The most important concept I took away from this class was the need for authenticity in instruction. Students take away more from a lesson and more engaged when the learning is authentic. I find this fact to be true in education and is something many classrooms are sorely missing.
The knowledge and skills gained in this class will be applied in the classroom and shared with other educators. Understanding how and why people learn is critical to planning implementing quality authentic learning experiences.
